Anastasios Mastroanastasiou
Biotech dealmaker · Founder · Lifelong student of what connects us
Anastasios Mastroanastasiou is a biotech dealmaker, founder, and lifelong student of what connects us. At BioNTech, he led due diligence on oncology and advanced-therapy transactions exceeding $1B, coordinating hundreds of experts across science, medicine, and finance. Before that, he co-founded Iris, a digital health platform that reached 300,000 users in Shenzhen — his first proof that healthcare moves fastest when systems connect.
Greek-Swedish by heritage and shaped by life across nine countries — from Karolinska and Harvard Medical School to KAUST and the Stockholm School of Economics — he now works on medicine's quietest inequity: the clinical trial and healthcare data ecosystem, where India's 1.4 billion people and much of the Global South remain missing from the datasets that will shape AI-driven medicine.
He is also a conservatory-trained opera singer, flautist, underwater photographer, and watercolourist — convinced that science, like art, is ultimately an act of human connection.
